Liver Bird - Liverpool Shopping Park

The worlds largest Liver Bird (11meters high) installed at Liverpool Shopping Park. Fabricated by Nuneaton based Andrew Langley.
The Liver Bird sculpture takes pride of place at the centre of Liverpool Shopping Park, the new £100m retail and leisure scheme which has regenerated the former Edge Lane Retail Park and surrounding land.
Weighing seven tonnes, the Liver Bird, was carefully lifted from a low-loader by a specialist team and crane onto a purpose-built plinth.
Made of fabricated Meccano pieces to commemorate Liverpool-born toy-maker Frank Hornby and the first Meccano factory on Binns Road, the sculpture stands at 11 metres tall and has taken more than a year to design and manufacture.
